Our first print magazine is here
Get your hands on FFJ VOLUME 1 in hard copy now
We are beyond excited to announce that our first-ever print edition of Feminist Food Journal, VOLUME 1, is now available in our online store! To celebrate, we’re debuting it at a special holiday price, with a special holiday bonus (more details at the end of this newsletter).
Curated with love and dedication, this exclusive edition encapsulates the essence of FFJ. It features handpicked highlights from our first four online issues: MILK, WAR, SEX, EARTH, and we’ve sprinkled bonus recipes, podcast excerpts, recommendations, and musings throughout.
We love the agility of publishing online, but in the words of our friend, we also wanted to create “something timeless, that can be read again and again”. Enjoy the tactile pleasure of flipping through 116 pages of rich, thought-provoking content: full-colour photographs, illustrations, original articles, essays, and interviews exploring food and culture from intersectional and global feminist perspectives. The content in VOLUME 1 is so special to us, and we’re overjoyed to be able to put it physically in your hands. In the words of a reader:
The magazine is 170mm x 240 mm, printed on ultra-smooth, high-opacity bright white paper with premium colour ink, and perfect bound.
The cover features a convivial original illustration by Zoë Johnson, made specifically for this edition (bonus points if you can spot our pooches).
As part of our 12 Days of FFJ promotion, we’re offering a complimentary annual digital subscription with every print magazine purchased (CA$65/US$45/€42 value). This means that in addition to the hard copy magazine, you get access to audio readings of most magazine pieces, behind-the-scenes updates, and our private FFJ WhatsApp group.
In essence, it’s two gifts in one — you can keep the digital subscription for yourself, or give it to anyone else of your choice (just pop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org) to let us know who.
Order FFJ Volume I now as a gift for yourself or a loved one!
