So excited to hear that you'll be hosting Lama on your podcast!

Her work on Palestinian food culture, especially in the current situation is so important.

I'm really looking forward to listening to the Podcast.

I'm interested in hearing more about Palestinian traditional food and recipes. And at the current circumstances, is there a specific dish or practice that serve people who face difficulties cooking or finding the food?

Thanks Hassan, yes a lot of recipes without animal protein are now being made like Palestinian Mujadara. Also flour is very scarce and expensive so many people are cutting down on bread which was a staple eaten with a lot of Palestinian foods and mezzes. People are now more dependent on the land and what it grows since borders have been closed.

It's really interesting to hear that Lama. And securing the flour which is the basic for surviving is hard to be secured especially during the blockade.

Yes, unfortunately bakeries were the first targets so several people depended on flour to bake their own bread. The WFP was operating some bakeries in Gaza but with the blockade they had to shut them down when their flour sources were depleted.
