Cooking is Resistance
I so enjoyed listening to this interview with the three activists behind Cooking Up Resistance. I attended the borscht making event and shared my pot of soup with dear friends. It was lovely to listen to the voices of these young activists as they “unpacked like cabbage” what motivates and inspires their work - from a very small act, like taking out a drone with a pickle jar to “all the beautiful smart ideas born when women get together”. Thanks Zoë , for bringing this interview to us and demonstrating that care is the antidote to violence and the ethics of care is demonstrative of the world we want. A friend recently shared her family’s Seder prayer with me , “we say let everyone who is hungry come and eat. We are not free until all of us are free..” Feminist Workshop a great organization and I am glad to have learned more about them and the work they do not only in the Ukraine but in all of Europe.
Amazing!! The mindfulness showed by these women to ensure that their organizing was not for Ukrainians, but for people in the Ukraine, is a huge distinction that matters. These women are amazing to listen to and seeing as “care is the antidote to violence”, these women are pockets of peace in the world. A joy to listen to, thank you!!
